I bought these based on the nutritional information thinking they'd be like high-protein wasabi peas. I ignored the other reviewer's comment that the wasabi was unevenly distributed. Big mistake.
The texture is pretty substandard compared to wasabi peas--they're a little bit cardboardy and they make my mouth feel dry. They also taste under-salted to me. But most of all, the unevenly distributed wasabi flavor means that one handful will taste like paper and the next will make you cry.
I really wanted to like them. :(

This stuff is awesome. Like the previous reviewer mentioned, it's best when you dip fruit into it, but, if you freeze it for about a half-hour, it is delicious alone! I'm trying to figure out a way to mold it and freeze it in cute shapes, but for now, just little blobs will have to do. Add a little WF marshmallow cream on top for looks and taste. And there you have it: calorie-free chocolates!

This isn't just a diet book. It's really a book on living healthy and happy. Since the authors are a nutritionist and a cardiologist, it's natural that diet, supplements, and medicines are the primarily discussed subjects.
But the real benefit of this book is that it reminds us of those things that we should be doing, but often do not. Nothing in the book is surprising - and that's what makes it so good. When you read it, you say to yourself - "I know that, why aren't I doing it?"
The diet proposed is a low-carb, fresh foods, mediterranean diet akin to South Beach - but here, it is modified to be the only diet that ever really works: "Eat less, exercise more."
The authors remind us that it is our entire lifestyle that matters - what we eat, how we live, and our attitudes that cause us to age, or to be 'Forever Young'.
I recommend this book highly - the writing style is conversational, which is perfect for picking up the book and re-reading that section or two that discusses what we've neglected to do for so long.
Having dealt with Dr. O'Keefe for the last five years, I became aware of their diet/lifestyle plan long before this book came out. Dr. O'Keefe correctly diagnosed my heart attack in 2000, and I am alive today because of that diagnosis. Since working with him on my attitude and lifestyle, I have lost 20 pounds, lowered my cholesterol significantly, and use this book now to remind me of the things I'm still not doing!

I've been using only Stevia as a sweetener for 4 years, mainly added to beverages or cereal, but I was missing the occasional sweet treat. I have bought 5 Stevia books: David Richard's Stevia Rebaudiana, Jeffrey Goettemoeller's Stevia Sweet Recipes, James & Tanya Kirkland's Sugar-Free Cooking with Stevia, Rita DePuydt's Stevia, and Lisa Jobs Sensational Stevia Desserts. The Stevia information in all of the books is very helpful; however, Goettemoeller's book is the best for "from-scratch" bakers like me (I mill my own flour), but Lisa Jobs' recipes are great for "casual" bakers. The ingredients are easily found in my grocery store, the recipes are easy to follow, but the best recommendation is that every recipe I've tried in this book has been delicious, including the non-fruit ones. Stevia has no problem sweetening recipes with fruit in them--even my sugar-loving husband can't tell the difference--but Stevia can be bitter if too much is used. Lisa Jobs, however, has come up with the right amount of Stevia to make a recipe yummy. I've successfully made and enjoyed her cobblers, pumpkin bars and pumpkin custard (taste and texture like pumpkin pie!), cookies, Rice Custard Pudding, and just today, her Chocolate-Peanut Butter Fudge II. After tasting that, I knew I had to recommend this wonderful Senstational Stevia Desserts cookbook to others on "no sugar added" diets. The nutritional information for each recipe is an added plus. I'm doing my Christmas baking now for teacher, neighbor, and friend gifts, and those (diabetics, dieters, and/or limiting sweets) who receive the goodies from this cookbook will not feel deprived!
Not only do you need a good Stevia recipe book, but you also need the right Stevia brand. I'd read that KAL was the best tasting brand, but KAL wasn't sold locally, so I had only used NOW powder or Sweet Leaf packets, which can make home-made desserts bitter, except in beverages, or if not combined with fruit or if not used in precise measurements. When my local NOW source couldn't deliver for 2 months, I checked on-line for a quicker source and discovered KAL brand available and decided to try it. I am so glad I did. The taste is never bitter. As an experienced Stevia user, I highly recommend KAL as the best tasting stevia available. If you're not liking the taste of Stevia, before giving up entirely on it, try KAL Stevia.
And if you find stevia bitter, it's probably because you're still using sugar or artificial sweeteners also. My daughter-in-law discovered her normally delicious stevia-sweetened morning coffee would taste bitter if she'd had a non-stevia sweetened dessert the night before.

This is a great book. I have seen Michael Thurmond on Extreme Makeover and his infomercial for the Six Week Body Makeover. I thought this book would be a great way to sample his ideas. In the six days since the book arrived, I am down a size, and more importantly, I'm not hungry and have more energy. The book has you take a quiz to determine if your body type is A, B, C, D or E. Then it recommends an eating plan for your body type. The eating plans have you eating five or six small meals a day, combining measured portions of protein with certain vegetables, fruits or carbohydrates. The book also recommends daily long slow distance exercise, like walking for 45 to 60 minutes. Then he tells you how to modify the eating plan after the six days by adding additional fruits, vegetables and carbohydrates. He also includes modifications to his plan for certain health problems. I have been doing Weight Watchers, but without much recent success. I find that this works well with Weight Watchers. This past week I lost several pounds, and more importantly, gained energy. I just feel so good when I follow this plan.
